MBA Development LLC was founded by Marty McComas, Charles C. Butler, and Ken Ayers. They have a combined 127 years of experience in home construction, general contracting, and real estate development.
Our business leadership team consists of businessmen with various areas of expertise and experience, which, when combined, provide the essential capabilities needed for success in real estate development. We are dedicated to working together for mutual benefit — and to benefit our equity investor partners.
Marty McComas
Managing Member
Marty McComas has over 36 years of homebuilding experience with expertise in construction, purchasing, product development, value engineering, customer service and operations leadership.
He has held a variety of positions including Chief Operating Officer of Davidson Communities, Del Mar, California, President of Trumark Homes, Newport Beach, California, Orange County Division, President of Mosaic Homes, a Business Unit of Suncal, Irvine, California. Marty held a variety of management positions at John Laing Homes in Irvine, California.
Marty has been involved in the construction of over 5,000 residential units throughout his career, including over 1,200 single and multi-family properties.
Charles C. Butler
Managing Member
Charles C. Butler has 55 years experience in the building industry. He also has more than 37 years as a world class manufacturer. He founded American Faucet and Coatings Corporation in 1986 for the purpose of producing faucetry that met rigorous standards of quality. He grew the company both in size and capabilities into its current 60,000-square-feet modern manufacturing facility in Vista, California.
Previously, Charles was the original Dupont Corian fabricator in the United States in 1972. Charles was a former Vice President of Dixieline Lumber and designed and built Dixieline Lumber Classics Collection in 1985. He has been a general contractor and remodeling contractor since 1970.
Ken Ayers
Managing Member
Mr. Ayers brings over 36 years of experience in the land development arena. His resume includes the successful development and management of The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe, in San Diego, widely regarded as one of the most successful private resort developments in Southern California.
Mr. Ayers was instrumental in the coordination of the design and development of the residential Villa product (3 plans for a total of 59 units ranging from 2,800 – 3,900 square feet) the Cortile Product (4 plans for a total of 44 units ranging from 4,400 to 5,500 square feet).
He also built and sold four custom homes within The Bridges ranging from 6,900 to 7,600 square feet. Two other major developments that Mr. Ayers held the position of Development Manager were the internationally renowned Diamante Cabo San Lucas and Boot Ranch in the Texas Hill country.
Mr. Ayers has extensive experience in project management, land acquisition, construction budget analysis, land entitlements, site development, land planning and HOA and CC&R documentation. He also has substantial experience in market feasibility study review, governmental affairs, planning, design, product design, scheduling, purchasing and construction oversight.
He has successfully managed a portfolio of more than 25 major projects which includes real estate and golf development with total budgets in excess of $900 million. Mr. Ayers is a proven residential, commercial and golf course development professional. Effective and recognized team player, well organized, strong problem solver and skilled negotiator.
